Join a Journey Out
group and get more out of your cruise experience.
For starters, you get to share your cruise with a
group of like-minded adventurers like you. We’ll
meet each evening for cocktails before dinner and
catch up on the day’s activities.
You’ll get a taste of luxury at a pace that allows
you to relax and saunter, or go climb glaciers. If
you want to relax, this is the time. Picture
yourself sitting on deck, blanket over your lap,
watching a glacier glide by. Someone hands you a
steaming cup of hot cocoa – it doesn’t get any
better than this! Maybe you’d like some adventure.
Go dog sledding. Take a helicopter ride, land on a
glacier. Go white water rafting. Maybe even take in
the Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show – husky
lumberjacks juggling chainsaws, log rolling and pole
climbing. And remember – a cruise vacation is one of
the most affordable. Your lodging, all your meals,
entertainment and lots of wonderful onboard
amenities are all
included in one low price.
“Journey Out made our first cruise a first class
experience!” – A. C.

Join us and you'll be joining a small group of gay
and lesbian travelers on a mainstream cruise. This
unique alternative to an all-gay cruise provides an
option for those of us who prefer a more traditional
experience, but want to share it with like-minded
adventurous companions. |

Growing
up, I experienced living frugally (my mother's side
of the family was very poor) and in luxury (father's
side was wealthy). I learned to be comfortable in
either world. Now in my daily life I live frugally.
So for me, a cruise is a chance to live in complete
luxury once again, just for a while. On a cruise, I
wake up to an elegant breakfast in an opulent
restaurant served with fine china, real silver and
crystal. My laundry is picked up and delivered for
me, my shoes shined. At night I stroll the deck at a
leisurely pace, pretending I do this all the time. I
get to don my tuxedo and share before-dinner
cocktails with a group of gay men and lesbians
sparklingly arrayed in their finest. Some are
temporarily wealthy, like me. Others live this way
most of the time. (Sometime I will tell you about
dining with a prince and his entourage on a cruise.
Yes, a real prince, and a gay one at that!) I get to
share stories of my life and hear others' stories,
and be constantly amazed at how different we can be,
yet have so much in common. It's my opportunity to
be sophisticated, witty, erudite, and totally at
ease with all the trappings of a life of luxury, as
though I lived that way every single day.
