We must be willing to give up the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

– Joseph Campbell

Itinerary

The workshops mentioned below will include a variety of exercises and self-explorations designed and guided by award-winning author of "The Way of the Traveler," Joseph Dispenza, and Psychologist Beverly Nelson, Ph.D. The Workshop applies the ancient paradigm of The Hero's Journey to help you identify and move through the obstacles that are keeping you from living your life to its fullest potential. You will come to understand that you are the hero of your amazing journey . . . your life.

Day 1

Saturday

Arrive in San Miguel de Allende

Morning and Afternoon

Guests arrive throughout the morning in San Miguel. You'll be greeted at the airport by a Journey Out representative and escorted to our lodging for the week, an enchanting bed-and-breakfast high in the mountains of central Mexico.

Evening

We begin our journey with an opening orientation and light Mexican supper at the LifePath Retreat Center in San Miguel's El Centro.

Sunday

Get to know San Miguel

Morning

This morning we tour San Miguel and get to know this charming Mexican town, called by Condé Nast Traveler "one of the 10 most beautiful towns in the world."

Afternoon

In Mexico, the traditional main meal of the day is called comida, and includes tortillas and frijoles with perhaps a sopa (soup), meat and salsa de jitomate (tomato sauce), vegetables, beans and salad, together with salsa cruda, and a tropical fruit salad. This will be followed by our first day of the Workshop.

Evening

The remainder of the day is free for you to read, rest, write in your journal, or explore more of San Miguel. Dinner this evening is on your own.

3

Monday

Visit the Plaza Civica

Breakfast at your lodging, followed by our morning Workshop.

Afternoon

After comida, we'll attend a lecture on Day of the Dead and construct our own Día de los Muertos altar at the Retreat House. The altars, or "ofrendas" as they are called, usually contain sugar sculptures known as "alfenique", miniature plates of food, small coffins, and of course, the sugar skull or "calavera."

The evening is free to rest, or for further explorations of San Miguel. Dinner is on your own.

Día de los Muertos

Thursday

  Cooking and Artisans
